Baron's
DT Pullback Risers

WHY? Once
I installed the Solo Seat I was ready to set up the bike to achieve
the most comfortable riding position possible. The stock handlebars,
even with vertical adjustments, forced me to lean just a bit too much
forward. I determined that I would only need an inch or two of
pullback to place the bars in an ideal position. After much research
(many thanks to the folks on the ISRA
forum) I decided that the DT Pullback Risers by Baron's would
fit the bill exactly. They offer a negligible height increase, but
two inches of pullback. I ordered them from Yamaha
Sportscenter in Texas. They offer great discounts and the
service is first-rate. Tell Brad and Tony I said hello. You can order
many items online, but this one wasn't posted there. I called via
their toll-free line.
SERVICE.
Excellent, as usual. Brad told me that they had the risers in stock
and that they would be shipped that same day. WOW! My order showed up
on the doorstep the next day via UPS! Packaging was good and all
parts were included. Product looked to be excellent quality.
INSTALLATION.
The job was pretty simple and could be accomplished by anyone with
moderate skills and tools. I was careful to cover the gas tank and
front fender to avoid dings and scratches, then followed the
instructions carefully. I removed the headlight, even though the
instructions didn't say to do so, and it made things much easier. The
stock cable guides can't be used, and must be cut or clipped to
remove them. I moved the brake line behind the triple tree to provide
extra clearance (thanks again to tips from the ISRA board). I
double-checked all lines and cables for binding and clearance then
sat in the saddle to find the best handlebar angle. I tightened
everything up and set the mirrors. The entire job took me a little
over an hour.
RESULTS.
Fantastic! This small item made a huge difference in my riding
position, and I am much more comfortable in the saddle. Makes a real
dirrence on longer rides. Amazing what a dirrerence a couple of
blocks of steel can make!
Worth the
money? Definitely. At over $150 I thought that they were too
expensive, but they paid for themselves after my first three-hour ride! |
