I'll be glad to post your picture in the gallery. You can make my life
a little easier by adhering to the following guidelines:
(And it's sad to say that in over 1000 pictures I can count on one hand
the number of people that get everything right - so please read these guidelines
and follow them as best you can!)
1) Send the picture as an attachment to an email. Do not imbed
the picture into the body of the email.
2) The picture should be as high a quality as possible, 72 dpi and at
least 500 pixels wide. I resize all pictures to 500 pixels wide and use
jpg compression on them to get them to display and download quickly (as well
as not take up too much space on my server). So the better picture I
start with, the better it will look. Don't use fancy borders on your
picture.
3) I can only post one picture, so send me the best one!
Ideally it should be the shot that best shows all the accessories you've
added.
4) Include (in the email) your name, city and state, and ISRA# if you
have one.
5) Include (in the email) the year and model
(Classic/Custom/Silverado) of your bike. Use the format: 'XX Vstar
1100 Model
6) Include (in the email) any accessories you've added, especially
those that are visible in the picture. Please include these as one long
list, with each accessory separated with a comma and a space. For
example: Yamaha Tall Shield, Cobra Slash Cut Slip-ons, Corbin Seat,
Yamaha Saddlebags
7) Don't try to format the email with spaces and tabs and html.
Here's what the ideal email body should look like:
Glenn Abbott
Dallas, TX
ISRA #1234
'03 Vstar 1100 Classic
Yamaha Tall Shield, Cobra Slash Cut Slip-ons, Corbin
Seat, Yamaha Saddlebags
Here's a bad email (and unfortunately too typical and if you think you're
being original by sending me this, well let's just say it lost its humor about
100 emails ago!):
Hey man, here's a picture of my bike!
8) Once you are ready, send the picture attached to an email to
webmaster@vstar1100.com
Note: It takes a lot of time and effort and money to keep this site
going. Please consider making a small donation to help support the effort.
I ask only $5.00 in return for keeping your picture posted and giving you a way
to link to it in your emails and posts on forums.
